This is an award winning piece that was created on October 7, 2023, at the Pacesetter Plein Air Competition Renaissance at Colony Park. This piece was the winner of the 2nd Place Watercolor Award.

Wes Arrington

Wes Arrington is from Brookhaven, MS, where he lives in the 75-year-old family home and is currently remodeling it with his wife, A.J. Arrington. They have four children and four grandchildren. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in art education from Mississippi College in 1994. At Mississippi College, he studied art under Dr. Samuel Gore and Wyatt Waters. 


Wes’ greatest artistic influences are Walter Anderson and Waters, with those two major influences as an artist, his preferred medium is appropriately, watercolor. Most recently, he competed in two separate plein air competitions and exhibits sponsored by Pacesetter Gallery in Jackson, MS, placing third in the watercolor division this past April, and that piece was eventually purchased by Visit Ridgeland to display in their office.
